
Colin Makin joined Wollastons from a leading regional firm
in 2006. He has specialised in employment law since qualifying
in 1999 and has extensive experience of advising employers and
employees on contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
In particular, Colin advises corporate clients on transfers of
undertakings and the employment issues arising out of company reorganisations,
including collective redundancy exercises. He also
advises on the protection of business interests including trade
secrets and confidential information and on the enforcement of
restrictive covenants through injunctive relief.
In addition
Colin is experienced in unfair and wrongful dismissal and discrimination
cases (including age discrimination). He has also developed
a particular interest in the application and impact of the statutory
disciplinary and grievance procedures.
