We employ four gap year students at any one time, normally for
about six months and usually, though not always, starting around
September/October or March/April. Candidates are usually on a gap
year before starting University and are working either to finance
further studies or travel prior to starting University. Although
the role will provide general office experience, it should not be seen as legal
work experience.
The job includes photocopying and preparation of trial bundles; getting old files
and deeds in and out of store; preparing and clearing meeting rooms; making coffee;
helping the caterer and the handyman; various driving errands; and help in the
post room.
We look for lively, good natured people who can work on their own initiative
but enjoy being part of a team. Good A levels impress us but we also look for
evidence of practical common sense and an ability to get things done. Attention
to detail is vital.
A driving licence is more or less essential – even if very recent. We provide
all our students with four hours of advanced driving lessons before they drive
for us.
